Better Foliage Addon/Texture Pack Minecraft – Detailed Overview
Better Foliage Addon/Texture Pack MCPE is an addon created by Fused_Bolt to enable Minecraft Bedrock Edition players to improve the foliage in the game while retaining the realism of vanilla. It enhances the player’s natural environment visuals by creating truly dense, detailed, and enchanted foliage.
Features of Better Foliage Addon/Texture Pack MCPE
1. Enhanced Tree Leaves
With the Better Foliage Addon, you can change the way tree leaves look by making them appear fuller, denser, and more natural compared to the default blocky look. You can even customize your experience by clicking the settings option (gear icon) to change the shape of your world’s leaves.
The shapes are round leaves, bushy leaves, or you can keep the Vanilla leaves’ shape. We found the bushy option a bit unstable, and we recommend round leaves.
2. 3D Plant Models
Utilizing Better Foliage, crops such as mushrooms and sugarcane will no longer look flat but in full 3D. Gardens, farms, and wild areas will pop with detail; flowers and crops stand out from the terrain, creating more depth and realism while also highlighting the tangible nature of the environment.
3. New & Improved Plants
The addon adds more types of plants to create diversity in your world. For instance, you’ll have 4-6 new varieties of flowers in flowerpots, 6+ varieties of lily pads (with flowers and without flowers), kelp, and vines. Other features included:
- The grass has new denser, taller, and detailed grass blocks and enhanced textures.
- Bushes/Shrubs. The bushes and shrubs have more natural, organic models and textures.
- The saplings have new models and textures, and new varieties such as pale oak.
- Nether Foliage. The nether foliage has been improved to be denser and have different varieties.
- Cacti & Deadbush. The cactus has new varieties now with beautiful flowers. Besides, the dead bush has a mini cacti variety.
In addition, the seagrass has been improved and now has tops that look like cattails. They will also pop out of the water sometimes, but will have to be on a block near the water surface.
4. Improved Grass and Plants Textures
The addon adds 9 new variants of grass blocks and makes the grass much more appealing. Expect new denser, taller, vibrant grass blocks in your open fields, gardens, and natural landscapes to make them look alive.
Why You Should Enable the Behavior Pack in Better Foliage Addon
Activating the Behavior Pack in the Better Foliage Addon introduces additional features that deepen Minecraft’s natural environment beyond merely improving its texture.
1. Falling Leaves
Leaf particles periodically fall in a 10-block radius from any type of leaf. Leaf particles fall like they would in real life and rest on blocks when they land, adding to the realistic feel of the pack.
2. Apple Growth System
The Behavior Pack also adds a multi-stage apple growing mechanic under oak trees. Specific to oak trees, this mechanic uses five stages of growth from the stem, the flowering stem, the small green apple, the big green apple, or finally, red (or golden) apples. Players can use bonemeal to fast forward the growth.
3. New Plants
Every pack includes plenty of new plants that spawn in the world naturally and contribute to the variety of biomes.
- Cattails spawn by rivers and in swamps and can be harvested by players with shears for placement.
- Shrubs will spawn in forests and players can collect and/or place them as they wish.
- Nether Roots will grow underneath netherrack in caves and fortresses in the Nether. They will be useful for decorative purposes in the Nether and provide a weird, atmospheric vibe.
